Artist Profile: Kimbra

Kimbra Johnson is a New Zealand born artist currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Known by her first name, Kimbra first came to my attention while watching music videos on Youtube. I cannot remember which video I was watching that had the link to Kimbra’s video “Settle Down” on the video, but I am glad that it did, because she is the kind of talented artist that one falls for at first exposure. Not only does she have a phenomenal voice, the passion she has for her music can be felt and seen when she performs. Her debut album is called Vows and was released at the end of August in New Zealand and early September in Australia. Below is the video for “Settle Down,” the song that got me interested in her and a live recording of the song “Two Way Street” at Sing Sing Studios. I thought that it would be a good idea to feature a live performance of her to show that she is the real deal. I enjoy her music and wish that she has worldwide success because she is a true talent.
